Concept: To have a larger presence at Dreamhack Austin eSports competition, with a large impact, maximum engagement in a fairly small footprint.
The Oculus consumer experience for this year’s Dreamhack Austin featured a Mixed Media Studio, stage set for gaming competition, plus 12 Oculus Anywhere kiosk game play stations for maximum engagement. Live shout casters announced play by play keeping the energy and competition exciting; incorporating the competition with the VR demos, delivering maximum buzz.
Another critical component to the activation was to make the VR experience accessible to spectators. FGPG worked with Oculus and key content partners to build a portable VR Chroma Key Video Production Studio that films guests or influencers while in VR, superimposing the guests into the VR scenery they are experiencing. Using a series of cameras rigged with motion tracking sensors, lights, microphones and a video editing suite the VR experiences were then displayed on large audio visual display systems on the exterior of the studio.
