Project: Comic-Con International 2017
Concept: Create an impressive brand presence during for Netflix during Comic-Con. Utilizing experiential activation for The Defenders and to highlight upcoming Netflix film Brite, starring Will Smith.
Netflix wanted to expand their presence at Comic-Con beyond their booth at the San Diego Convention Center and what better place than the Hilton directly across the street for greater brand awareness. FG|PG designed and produced the Bright and The Defenders activation in collaboration with Brand Connections.
Netflix welcomed fans into the individual universes of their hottest originals. As you walk up the stairs to the courtyard entrance, Netflix’s upcoming original series The Defenders was front row center with photo ops with life-size character cut-outs in front of street scene graphic panels. Also during the event a surprise appearance from the real life actors. The activation featured actual props and costumes in custom display cases and custom branded water and swag handed out by brand ambassadors standing behind a replica of “Josie’s bar” from the show.
The interior space was comprised of multiple exciting elements where guests were able to engage and experience the world of the Netflix original film Bright starring Will Smith. Experiences including photo ops on the throne of the Orc king, a spray on tattoo station with the choice of several badass “Orcish” stencils, a mug shot photo op in front of a precinct wall, complete with an augmented reality experience using the magic wand from the movie. As a final stop, guests entered into “Abrams house” to grab additional swag and check out authentic Bright props and costumes on display.
